About five years ago, my husband and I and our five children moved to my grandparents' farm. Long before I was alive, it was Top O' the Hill Dairy Farm, and later a Christmas Tree Farm so we decided to try to carry on the family farm tradition.

It started with the desire to have healthy food for our own family. We planted an organic garden and someone gave us a rooster and two hens. This summer our poultry population reached about 200 chickens, 20 ducks/geese, 5 guinea fowl and 80  Heritage Turkeys.   This is our second year raising hogs, specifically Large Blacks, Tamworths, and a Large Black mix.

We are on 22 acres, much of it wooded, and the birds are all free-range with plenty of room to roam. We supplement their grazing with a certified organic feed.

This is our second year selling to the public. We feel like many people have forgotten where food actually comes from and we are really enjoying raising our own.  We are contantly learning and growing along the way.  It has been a joy to meet other like-minded people who care about  how their food is raised and appreciate all that goes into it.
